How to Get The Right Keywords

September 29th, 2008 · 5 Comments

Recently we talked about how to get the right keywords especially as it pertains to the long tail.

Long tail marketing is going to give you traffic and success with your site much quicker than chasing after “the big” term in your market.

We know through a persistant and consistant effort we can rank for very difficult phrases over time.

But is that where the buyers are?

More often than not within your markets you are going to find the buyers surfing in the long tail to find what they are looking for.

As an online marketer, it is one of your goals to position yourself in front of this surfer at the right monment.

Here is a short video explaining how you can quickly analyze the long tail and determine if it is worth pursuing at least from a ranking standpoint.

Hopefully after watching this video you will understand how to get the right keywords within the longtail

    Hi Sam,

I Tried this method and actually got 2 long tails onto google front page on one of my sites overnight from nowhere.

All I did was use some posts and social sites - a total of 5 places only.

(See, I was paying attention and not falling asleep - and that’s why I attend BOTH morning and evening sessions).

This is a very effective method so I’m going to find 100 of these long tails and try to rank for them all.

It’s very much like travelling all over the world and making your visits count but doing it on the world wide web.

    I’ll keep you aprised soon.

Sam: This video kept breaking up and was difficult to make sense out of it. Would you consider sending it out again to see if it could be better. Thanks. Meredith

    Hi Sam,
Using your techniques I was able to rank for 2 longtail phrases almost overnight. Now as soon as I make a post I see googlebots (3 of them) swarming over my site.
Thanks for all the good info,
    Steve
